Back in January Kerry Lucasse wrote a post titled FACEBOOK 2009 - Five easy ways to maximize your visibility & interact with others. I had been a member of Facebook for a while and was a fan of a few pages but had not set up a business page for Trump University. I didn't see the ROI at the time. After reading Kerry's post I realized it was time to set Trump U up with a fan page. Read Kerry's posts and you will see step by step how easy this is to do.
So one weekend I took about 30 minutes and set up this page:
Trump University on Facebook Take a look and become a fan. If you have any feedback or thoughts please share them with a comment. It is fascinating to watch the page grow with almost zero marketing. It is also a fun way to interact with your clients, prospects and of course fans. In case you missed the memo... social media works!
Why become our fan?
Fans will be the first to know about special events, offers, opportunities to work with us and inside info we decide to "leak" etc.
Thank you for this great info. I've been using Facebook for some time to promote listings but this is great for taking it to the "next" level.
What has happened since you started your fan page? Have you seen lots of "fans" since starting the page? Have you received a ROI yet? What marketing, if any, have you done so far and what do you see happening as a result of setting up this page?

@Samantha - I can't take all the credit but thanks
@Kathy - All good questions and even better for a follow up blog post... Stay tuned.
@CTS - you are too good to me. Thanks for the feature.
Hi Josef - I love using Facebook as part of my social media marketing strategy!
@Bill - you are a true pro and you know I learned a thing or two from you too.
Josef, you are very welcome. This is great news! I'm with Bill. I'm having so much fun with my AR and NYCDOC peeps over here, in Twitter and over there. My virtual family makes real estate so much more fun (LOL).
@CTS - if we can't have fun then it is not worth doing.
Josef, I am sooo down with the fun program. :-)
@CTS - it is all about the fun which is why I am driving to Baltimore early in the AM to meet Margaret Rome before heading to one of our events.
This sounds good to me. I am in!
Yes face book pages work and so do ning pages i have them all & they drive a lot of traffic to my sites.
@Melody- excellent.
@Tom - interesting point about Ning. A while back I set up an account and built a page but forgot about it for a while. If they work then it is time for me to pick that one back up.
Thanks for the tips! I will check it out.
I know I should spend more time on Facebook but I don't know where to find the hours. Simply responding to "friend" requests and those silly little offsite requests is all consuming. How do you do it?
Josef, Facebook really can create a platform to get your name out there and create business relationships as well. Take care and happy blogging!
@Lise - please do and consider a page for your own company.
@Elizabeth - Time is an issue. I try to log in at the end of the day for 20 minutes or so and just do what I can. I don't respond to the "silly" stuff and just focus on what I think is the best use of my time.
@Jason - 100% agree. Happy blogging and social networking...
I'm waiting on the next installment of this post! I'd like to hear how this is working out for you as well as your marketing strategy for promoting the page.
As a Virtual Assistant, I'd like to find out how to make best use of the fan page for my business.

Renae - Stay tuned. I have a busy weekend but will try to get the follow up to this post done soon. FB is definitely driving traffic to our site and I will share more details and ideas in my next post.
Josef - I set up a fan page for our radio show, and it is growing, although not as quickly as our audience. Congrats!
@Jason - send me a link to the fan page. I would like to check it out.
Joined your fan page and have a few of my own. They are great tools, but only if they are used. Unfortunately, too many people set them up and forget them. Great way to engage with interested consumers!

@Tina - I try to visit and update the pages a few times a week. Even if it is just adding a note to the wall. Would love to hear your thoughts on our pages and any ideas you have for making them more interesting.
If you guys are down, add yourself to my facebook fan page so I can grow some popularity.
My new website has a link button, hard to miss. http://ShaunsHouses.com
Thanks!
